NOTE: DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS TOUR HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH AT 11:00 AM.
This interactive walking tour will guide participants on an easy trek to find readily available fruit growing on public land in and around San Francisco’s popular Mission neighborhood. Starting at the 66-foot long vegetable and herb garden known as FARM, participants will hear about the history of the unique site before heading off on a route designed by Neighborhood Fruit, a locally based startup that specializes in creating mobile apps for finding and mapping fruit around the city. The tour will conclude at 18 Reasons, a nonprofit community space devoted to engaging community through food and art, for a tasting of the collected fruits.
Tour led by Asiya Wadud of Forage Oakland.
