Abstract Artist Michael Temple first showed his work at the Rose Café back in 1984. It was exciting then and it’s exciting now….he is currently on view in a group show "Rose Retrospectives” at the restaurant.
In addition to being an artist, Temple is also known as the founding member and percussionist of the famous world beat band “The Bonedaddys.” He has actively pursued both music and art throughout his long career.
He graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a BFA in Painting and Printmaking. Temple's work has been a part of many exhibitions in cities such as Kansas City, New Orleans, and Los Angeles. He recently participated in several group shows at Trunk Gallery and was a featured artist in the Santa Monica Airport Art Walk.
Temple is proud to be a part of "Rose Retrospectives” and is exciting to be working once again with curator Karen Black.
The Rose Café first opened in 1979, and has presented over 200 exhibition featuring hundreds of artists, both local and international. Curator Karen Black has been working with the café from the very beginning has organized a new series entitled "Rose Retrospectives”
The first of the series started in February of 2013. The second exhibit in the series is currently on view and runs through July 7th.
"Rose Retrospectives” also features the work of Dora De Larios, Meg Davenport, Melvin Detroit, Jodi Fuchs, Fred Kaplan, and Cassandra Tondro. The exhibition will be on view through July 7th. On Friday, July 12th Michael Temple will also be featured in a group show at hale ARTS P A C E on Friday in Santa Monica. The exhibition will be on view through July 24th.
