AAUW’s Cocktails & Convos presents...
An (un)Happy Hour
Tuesday, April 12, 5-7 PM
1620 I St. NW
Our conversation continues as we mark Equal Pay Day on April 12th with an (un)happy hour, this time at BlackFinn. Join us for...
- $3 Miller Lite Drafts
- $4 Amstel Light Drafts
- $5 House Wines
- $5 for the Equalizer – a tasty concoction made just for Equal Pay Day and Cocktails & Convos devotees
- Specials on food will also be available.
If the drinks don’t tempt you, perhaps our speaker will! Lisa Maatz, AAUW’s top policy adviser, will be there to kick off the conversation about the unfair paychecks women take home, and how important this issue is to all of us. A force to be reckoned with on Capitol Hill (and a riot to listen to!), Lisa is sure to spark the activist inside us all.
Not sure what Equal Pay Day is? It's the symbolic point at which a woman’s salary finally
catches up to a man’s earnings from the previous year. On average, women are paid 77 cents to the dollar earned by their male counterparts. While we mark this day with an (un)happy hour, we're still going to have a good time.
So come by, have a drink, meet some friends, and get involved in the conversation. We hope to see you there!
