An investigation of hunger in America, where 1 in 6 Americans don't have enough food. 80% of people on food stamps are working. What you can do. We'll discuss the movie after.
After the film, Second Harvest Food Bank's Passion for Produce program will give us a short talk about the hunger, obesity, and diabetes problem for lower income households in our community, and how they're trying to solve it.
Part of the 2013 Summer Food for Thought! Film Festival at the library: a free film series about our food systems and preserving the environment. Most of the films are award-winning, many of them are entertaining, and all of them make you think.
The series runs every Tuesday evening at 7pm (except July 2) and every other Saturday afternoon at 3pm at the Downtown, Aptos, or Scotts Valley library branch.
