With Congress passing the Affordable Healthcare Act, questions are flying about how it will impact current and new healthcare options. How much should healthcare cost? If I don’t have healthcare, what are the penalties? What are the best healthcare plans for the Memphis area? If you don’t know the answers to any of these questions, don’t worry. The Memphis Music Foundation will be hosting a panel of healthcare experts on Tuesday, November 12, at Minglewood Hall to discuss and answer questions.
Marvin Stockwell will be on the panel representing the Church Health Center. The Church Health Center’s mission is to provide uninsured working people and their families in Memphis with affordable healthcare. This non-profit organization has contributed to serving more than 125,000 Memphians annually. Open to the entire Memphis community, affordable healthcare is available with fees based on one’s family size and income. Stockwell will be talking more in depth about the Church Health Center and what they can do for you.
Seedco will also be present on the panel, providing a representative who is an expert on the Affordable Care Act. The national organization has been a part of Memphis for over a decade, working to provide Shelby county residents with the tools necessary to gain employment and healthcare. Seedco works with many non-profit organizations and employers in the Memphis area to help people understand how to better shop for affordable health insurance through a Federal health insurance marketplace.
After the panel, representatives from The Church Health Center, Seedco and Blue Cross Blue Shield Tennessee will be available for further questions. RSVP today to reserve your spot.
