A Night With Food & Wine
and the Entrepreneurs Behind Them
Plated is redefining weeknight dinner. Through weekly chef-designed menus, the company is helping America to eat and live better.
Josh Hix co-founded the company with Nick Taranto after they graduated from Harvard Business School. When they both moved back to NYC, they noticed their busy schedules directly influenced their diets. Plated's "dinner kit" is their solution. After you select a chef-designed recipe (the team releases a new featured menu every week), you receive locally sourced ingredients in a biodegradable box, which is designed to keep the contents fresh in your fridge for five days. All you need is about 30 minutes to make the meal!
Jomaree's career is a journey that has taken him from helping develop and deploy the Salvation Army's 9/11 Disaster Relief Program to providing strategic consulting services for the NFL. With a BS and MBA from the UVA and The Wharton School at UPenn respectively, by day, he runs his own consultancy, Pink Inc., that helps brands explore, learn and grow. Clients include the aforementioned NFL as well as Moet & Chandon to name a couple. By nights, Jomaree co-owns and operators craft cocktail bitters company, Hella Bitter. In 2 years, Hella Bitter grew from a hobby into a nationally distributed food manufacturer. Jomaree explains his experience growing the business as "While my business acumen serves Hella Bitter from a marketing and financial operations standpoint, nothing could have prepared me for the life of a food entrepreneur! Hella Bitter is an end-to-end experience in the creation of a hip beverage brand."
