Jack Edwards works for Ashoka, a social sector organization which finds and supports social entrepreneurs, looking for the next generation of Moahammad Yunus. He works from his home in Miami, FL half time. Jack focuses on helping find and select social entrepreneurs from around the world, and he has interviewed more than 220 in 15 countries. In addition, Jack works with some social entrepreneurs helping them with the challenges of growing the social impact of their innovative new ideas which are creating systemic change.

Jack is a retired executive from Cummins, Inc., a $10 billion company based in Columbus, Indiana. His last position with Cummins was President of Cummins Power Generation Business, a $1.4B business, based in London, England. He spent his 31-year career at the company working all over the world in various positions. While working for Cummins, in addition to his business responsibilities and achievements, Jack helped start a carpentry business for blind people in Mexico, which employs 100 blind people, started a school in Sao Paulo Brazil for 700 kids who were unable to attend school, and helped start a Women's Engineering College in Pune, India where 1,000 women per year graduate.

Kara Andrade is a social entrepreneur who was born in Guatemala, raised in the United States, worked for the Oakland Tribune as a reporter, received her Masters in Journalism from Berkeley, returned to Guatemala in 2008 and was elected an Ashoka Fellow in August, 2010.

Having escaped genocide in her native Guatemala as a young child, Kara is seizing the opportunity to develop a citizen-based information sharing platform throughout Central America as democracy slowly begins to take hold. Built on mobile phone networks and internet "hub" sites, Kara's Habla model has rapidly spread through the region thanks to grassroots demand for a reliable source of information.

Both Jack and Kara will be in Claremont to participate in the Kravis Leadership Institute's September 29, 2010 Leadership Day. The mission of the Kravis Leadership Institute at Claremont McKenna College is to be the premier academic center for the promotion and understanding of responsible, innovative leadership and to provide unique opportunities for CMC students to develop as outstanding real world leaders in the public, private and social sectors.
