Thank you so much for making the past 9 events so successful. For the tenth, we're pulling out all the stops for an event so big that we had to move to a larger venue. Hosted by Joel "Fluent" Greene, and co-hosted by Whitney Syphax Walker. A FAMILLY AFFAIR brings together some of Detroit's favorite acts in poetry and music. This includes Khary Kimani Turner, Lashaun Phoenix Moore, Cold Men Young, Detroit Witness, Honeycomb, ML Liebler, and Joel Fluent Greene. There will also be special performances by Chantay Legacy Leonard and Alex White, as well as a youth showcase. Special tributes will be made to Cafe Mahogany, Broadside Press, and the Hip Hop Shop--three institutions that were catalysts for the growth of the Detroit hip hop and poetry scene. There will also be a Detroit-based vendor marketplace. Music will be supplied by DJ LaJedi, and there will also be a full bar available. This is an event you don't want to miss! The buzz is growing, and the A Man Can Change series is quickly becoming Detroit's favorite poetry showcase. Join us on February 22, 2013 at 7 pm at the Charles H Wright Museum of African American History for A Man Can Change #10!!!
