San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
“A Life that Sings” Memorial & Charitable Golf Tournament held at the Huntington Hills Golf & Country Club in Lakeland, Florida, honors the lives of Zion (9), Phoenix (7), Avaya (2) and Willie Malave (41) lost in a car accident on January 18th, 2013. We resided in Lakeland for over 10 years and Huntington Hills is the golf course that my children learned to golf at.
"A Life That Sings"is about the possibility of healing and contribution. This event provides me an opportunity to heal and an opportunity to contribute to others. My intention is that everyone knows they make a difference in someone’s life.
The proceeds from this event are donated to Out of Darkness, the anti-trafficking arm of Atlanta Dream Center (a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization located in Atlanta, Georgia), whose mission is to reach, rescue and restore the lives of all victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Sadly, in the United States the average age that someone is first trafficked for sex is 11-14 years-old, and the average length of life from that point is 7 years due to STDs, overdose, violence, and suicide. These precious individuals need to be reached where they are, rescued from their circumstances, and restored to a place of hope and new life.
We invite you to participate in this event in a way that works best for you:
Golfer: $100 event ticket – in person participation- buys a round of golf, 18 holes, and a dinner
Supporter: $50 event ticket– in person participation- buys a dinner and socializing or cheering on the golfers
Contributor: make personal donation in the amount that works for you, without attending the event
The first T-off is at 1 pm, so please plan to arrive at Huntington Hills Golf & Country Club no later than 12:30 pm. In the lobby we will have a welcome table for “A Life that Sings”event and greeters who will direct all participants to the appropriate venues.
Thank you for your participation in the “A Life that Sings” event. There is no doubt that lives will be changed as a result.
