A Horror & Fantasy Show Film Shorts Screening

Longwood Arts Project, the visual arts program of the Bronx Council on the Arts, presents A Horror & Fantasy Show Film Shorts Screening.  

Organized by Antonio Vicenty, this provocative and haunting selection of horror film shorts presents works by filmmakers Mac Eldridge, Jeremy Kipp, Mike Kochansky, Carmen Martinez, Douglas A. Plomitallo and John Zhao.

The shorts (listed below), inspired in the horror and suspense genre explored apocalyptic worlds, epidemics, fears, guilt, phobias and torture.

Join us on Saturday, March 16 at 6pm at 2700 E Tremont Avenue, Bronx NY 10461, and meet our guest curator and filmmakers.  A Horror & Fantasy Show Film Shorts Screening is presented in conjunction with In the Realm of Dreams & Fears and Antonio Vicenty, on view thru May 1 at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos.

Mac Eldridge

Chemical 12-D (2010), 7 minutes - In a post apocalyptic world, Michael Frank searches for infected persons in hopes to figure them out and to find the answers he has been searching for.
Blood On The Plain
 (2011), 12 minutes
- It tells the story of a small-town that comes together to hunt down creatures after they attack the local high school's dance.


Jeremy Kipp
Jeremiah Kipp is a New York City based writer, producer and director with over ten years experience creating narrative and commercial films.  

Contact (2009), 10 minutes - "Contact" tells an unsettling story of two seemingly different couples: two lovers who buy and consume a bizarre drug that leads them into a state of nightmary trippiness, and an elderly couple that is nervously waiting for a mysterious visitor.


Mike Kochansky
Mike Kochansky is writer & director from Los Angeles, California. He was born and raised in Pennsylvania and became interested in horror and science-fiction films at a very young age. After graduating college, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. Since living in LA he has written and directed numerous short films and music videos, some of which have screened in the US and the UK at various festivals and events.

Carmen Martinez
Carmen Martinez is a web designer and filmmaker. Since the age of five she loved horror films. Her passion is to make stories come to live in film.

Douglas Plomitallo is Director, Editor, Producer and writer of the horror webseries SCAREDSTIFFTV

Closet Monster (2011), 5 minutes- With no help from her babysitter, a little girl is forced to face the mysterious closet monster alone! 


John Zhao
John Zhao is a writer and filmmaker of Korean descent, born in China and raised in Germany and America. He spent his earlier years with his grandfather, an acclaimed calligrapher and painter who sparked an everlasting love for storytelling and poetry in him. He lives and works in New York City

DOTS (2012), 20 minutesA struggling adolescent actress's dreams crumble under her involvement with a nightmarish snuff film ring. Nodding to the Cinema of Transgression, DOTS is filmmaker John Zhao's gallery-commissioned interpretation of the horror genre that explores the exploitation of personal drive and the fire of guilt.
