Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (PST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom

Film and fashion historian Kimberly Truhler is back to discuss iconic costume design…focusing on the last decades of the Golden Age of the Hollywood and the female style icons who emerged in the 1960s and 1970s. Stills of costumes from the movies and images from fashion runways accompany a discussion of the history and designers whose work with stars like Audrey Hepburn, Faye Dunaway, Ali MacGraw, and Catherine Deneuve continue to influence fashion today. You will see a selection of vintage clothing that shows the impact of costume design on fashion in the 1960s and 1970s as well.
With over 20 years studying film costume design and years working in LA’s Fashion District, Kimberly Truhler is regarded an expert by cineastes and fashionistas alike – everyone from Turner Classic Movies (TCM) to Christie’s Inc. to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) call upon her services. She teaches a class on the History of Fashion in Film at Woodbury University and has written extensively on the subject for her company GlamAmor and other media. Drawing upon her knowledge of fashion past and present, and informed by her love of cinema style, Truhler continues to curate a collection of classic vintage clothing and is involved with preservation projects and exhibitions.
