Event: 4:30-7:00pm
Stories and Slideshow at 6:15pm

For the past eight weeks, restaurateur Ben Towill (The Fat Radish) has been on "A Ride in the Country," biking 4,700 miles across the country. Along the way, Ben's goal was to raise $25,000 for Just Food's Youth Community Chef program and raise awareness about the US food system -- and did an amazing job of both! Throughout his journey, Ben has shared updates accompanied by beautiful photos taken by talented photographer and riding partner Pat Dougherty on his website and Instagram (@benjamintowill), as well as weekly posts for T Magazine. Join Just Food as we welcome him home, thank him for his outstanding effort and achievements, and see images and hear the story of this journey from the man himself. Light snacks and drinks will be served; RSVPs not required but appreciated!

JUST FOOD

Just Food is a non-profit organization that empowers and supports community-led efforts to increase access to locally grown food, especially in underserved New York City neighborhoods. Just Food provides training and education to community members to help them launch projects like farmers' markets and CSAs, provide education in basic culinary and urban agriculture skills for their neighbors, and advocate to make their corner of New York City a healthier place to live and eat.

Since 1995, Just Food has pioneered sustainable food models, including CSAs, community-run farmers’ markets, and farm-to-food pantry programs. Just Food trains and builds lasting partnerships with community leaders and community based organizations to develop projects, such as CSAs, farmers markets, and other models, that create alternative ways to bring farm-fresh, locally grown food to their neighbors.
