Roderick Q. Hickman
Roderick Q. Hickman is a nationally acclaimed corrections executive and reformer; recognized for his work leading the largest reorganization of corrections in California during Governor Schwarzenegger’s tenure. His career has spanned the public and private sectors, including leadership and management roles as Agency Secretary, Warden, Chief Deputy Director, Regional Administrator, ACA Board of Governors, Chairman Corrections Standards Authority.
An acclaimed public speaker and writer, Mr. Hickman has published articles on staff safety in prisons, transferring technology into correctional settings and the impact of the press, special interest groups and politics on correctional policy. Awards include; Innovation in Government Award from the Association of Public Administration, the Executive Award from the Association of Black Correctional Workers, and the Corrections Silver Star for his successful resolution of a hostage situation in a correctional facility.
