2014 Unmasking Colon Cancer Gala

Unmasking Colon Cancer Gala

Our fight against colorectal cancer has been fueled in part by financial support from the Unmasking Colon Cancer Gala, which is our premier fundraising event held each March during Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.  Since 2007, the Gala, which has been held in several cities throughout South Carolina, has celebrated the progress made in the effort to eradicate colorectal cancer.  Guests at the event honor those loved ones and friends who have survived the disease, remember those who fought and lost the battle against it, and pledge to continue efforts aimed at its eradication.  Over the years, attendance at the Gala has increased markedly, as have proceeds to support the Center’s research and advocacy efforts.  Money raised has leveraged grants and endowments from private and public entities, and has funded research, outreach, and screening programs all around South Carolina.  Major sponsors, such as BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, CVS Caremark, and numerous gastroenterology practices and hospitals, have been enormously important to the progress we have made.

Columbia 2014

On March 8, 2014, the 8th Annual Unmasking Colon Cancer Gala will be held at the Koger Center for the Arts on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia.  The primary theme of this Mardi Gras-style event will be Honoring Colorectal Cancer Survivors, and will give guests the opportunity to celebrate the victories these survivors have won.  Overall, the Gala will be a testimonial to the impact that colorectal cancer has on real people in South Carolina.  Please plan on joining us next March in Columbia.  It will be an inspirational and sensational evening.
