Event Details

In this 8 week class, you will learn techniques used by elite and advanced level runners to be more efficient, relaxed and less injury prone.   You will receive an 8-week transition training program to complete on your with support and instruction weekly to advance your running.

Dates:  Jan 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

           Feb 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd

Time: 7:00-8:00 PM

  • Body Position and Head Alignment
  • Form Dills & Form Techniques
  • Foot Mechanics & Ground Impact
  • Shoe Fit and Design
  • Mobility, Strength, and Stability to improve running economy
  • Breathing and Relaxation Techniques
  • Recovery and Self-Massage
  • Interval Training and Free Speed

USA Track & Field Coach Ryan Smith, MS and Buckeye Running Company

Ryan Smith is an expert on running, running form, and fitness. He completed both his BA & MS from the University of Kentucky with an emphasis on Exercise Physiology. Having worked in the fitness industry since 1989, he has continued to learn, study, and develop a training system that allows him to customize workouts that go way beyond the "common goals" that people set for themselves. Ryan is certified by USA Track & Field and Newton Running as a Level 1 Coach, as well as a certified personal trainer by the American College of Sports Medicine, a Food Psychology Coach from the Spencer Institute, and a professional in Functional Movement Screening and corrective exercise. Ryan has a broad base of training knowledge, including basic and complex use of the TRX Suspension Trainer.

As a member of the elite SuperHuman Coaches Network, he is one of very few coaches world wide that works to put all the pieces together, from training and nutrition, to rest and recovery, to help his clients reach a level they have never seen before. 

In 2011, Ryan formed Personal Impact, LLC as a company to promote a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition and fitness, and improving athletic performance.  Studying the latest in scientific research and equipment, Ryan has the ability to apply that knowledge from the world of sport science to help his athletes take their performance to the next level.

Ryan currently serves as Vice President of the Runners' Club of Greater Cincinnati and as the Fitness Consultant to the men's cancer awareness organization "save the tadpoles"

Ryan has become a sought after speaker and presenter on the topics of running & running form, sports performance, nutrition, fat loss, and sports nutrition for endurance athletes.
