7th Biennial Conference: "Activism for Human Rights: From Issues to Action"

The Seventh Biennial Kansas City Conference on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) is sponsored by the Center for Global and Multicultural Education (GAME) and the UMKC Women’s Center and will take place October 4-5, 2012 at the Embassy Suites on the Plaza. . The theme for the 2010 conference is “Activism for Human Rights: From Issues to Action.” Featured speakers are Kansas City-based singer/songwriter Barclay Martin; Lillian Pardo, Professor Emerita in Neurology and Pediatrics, University of Kansas Medical Center; and Meg Gardinier, Chair of the Campaign for US Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The purpose of the 2012 conference is:
- To promote awareness and understanding of the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the U.N Convention the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and their local impact;
- To network with local, regional, national, and international organizations for Activism for Human Rights.
