North Carolina Children and Nature Coalition

The North Carolina Children and Nature Coalition (NCCAN!), is a coalition of stakeholders representing educators, health professionals, corporations,  higher education, media, child development professionals, recreation specialists, nonprofits, government agencies, environmental groups, planners, designers and developers, child advocates, media  and national partners who have come together to speak as one voice on behalf of children in North Carolina and the importance of reconnecting youth to outdoor activities which connect them to their natural world and impact the education, physical and emotional health of children.

NCCAN!’s vision is that children will have the opportunity to value, discover and experience the natural world around them.

NCCAN!’s mission is to establish a relationship between children and the natural world by bringing together people and organizations to strengthen, broaden, and support efforts that build these connections with the natural world.
