Event Details

Shotgun begins: 12:30pm

Auction and Dinner: 5:00pm

The Jack McGovern Coats Disease Foundation is pleaseed to host our 7th Annual Golf Tournament to find a cure for Coats' Disease. Coats' Disease affects thousands from all over the world and, if left untreated, can cause blindness. It typically affects children. Our very own Jack McGovern and Ashley Harper have both been battling the disease since a young age.

The latest intiative for the JMCDF is a strategic partnership with Genentech and top researchers in pediatric retinal diseases. This new research project will improve the understanding of Coats' disease pathophysiology and genetics and get us closer to finding new treatements and potentially a cure for Coats' Disease and related eye conditions. Thanks to your continued support. The collaboration will facilitate the collection of Coats' Disease patient data and blood samples for genetic analyses by Pediatric Retinal Specialists at 11 centers across the country and Genentech scientistsJMCDF donors are making this collaboration between physicians and Genentech possible and it will get us one step closer to finding a treatment for Coats' disease!

We are now raising funds to support a registry to organize the blood collection data. The total cost of this registry is $86,000. A blood registry database will help further this study to find new treatments and potentially cure Coats' Disease. Help us get the funds we need ti support this important work!

We hope to see you there. If you can't make it, we invite you to consider one of our various sponsorship levels or a simple donation. Thank you for your support!

The Jack McGovern Coats Disease Foundation

To raise awareness, fund research, and create a community of patients, parents, medical professionals, and supporters.

In 2006, Ed and Tina McGovern discovered that their son Jack had developed a rare retinal disease in his left eye called Coats disease. They have since learned that some research has been conducted on the disease, but much, much more is needed. With three annual events per year, a growing community of supporters, and over $400,000 dollars in donations for research, the JMCDF has made a dent in the work that needs to be done to cure Coats.
