Here is her story!
Candace is the kind of woman who touches everyone she meets. Growing up in a small town, Candace became a single mother at a young age. From that point forward her life changed. Candace has spent the past 20+ years raising her five beautiful children. She has worked tirelessly to provide for them (often alone) and set a positive example through many of life’s obstacles – always showing them the benefit of hard work and determination. She’s never been one to take the easy road, or to give up.
A perpetual advocate for the voiceless- Candace works as Lead Victim Advocate for the Women’s Center of Brevard. She helped open the Titusville chapter of the Women’s Center, and since that time her life is spent providing hope, safety, and guidance to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault: a promise of a better tomorrow. Additionally, Candace has served as head of the local Domestic Violence Task Force, organized fundraising events for charities, supported efforts to combat human trafficking, and reached out to educate the community on domestic violence and sexual assault. Working full time, Candace also attends college at the University of Central Florida, where she is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work.
Recently, Candace was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of BREAST CANCER. She now begins the toughest fight of her life. It’s our turn to help give back to a woman who has done so much for our community. There are many financial roadblocks cancer patients encounter on their journey: excessive co-pays, lost time from work, gas expenses from travelling for treatment, and prosthetic devices (to name just a few).
Your donation will help with financial obstacles relating to Candace’s Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatments.
