8:25AM:  Brief welcome address by John Hughes, President Elect, RICS and Jerry Grad, CEO, IPTI

 

8:30AM - 9:25AM:  The Future of the Appeal Process

Chair: Jeff Grad, Equitable Value, RICS Ontario Chair

Speaker 1: Municipal Representative, OMTRA representative – The role of municipalities in the appeal process 

Speaker 2: Matt Kanter, Associate General Counsel, MPAC – Mediating our way to expedited resolutions 

Speaker 3: Paul Muldoon, Associate Chair, ARB – The Board’s expectations of those participating in a mediation 

 

9:30AM - 10:30AM:  Stakeholder Issues & Recommendations

Chair: Sandi Prendergast, Altus Group, IMA Incoming President

Speaker 1: Paul Campbell, Director, Centralized Properties, MPAC – A review of the SPBPAR Pre-Roll process:what worked, what didn’t, proposed improvements

Speaker 2: MOF Representative – a review of issues currently on the MOF’s plate relating to capping, vacancy and rate adjustments

Speaker 3: Michael Brooks, CEO, REALpac – The importance of property tax fairness
