The Party

The 6th annual Party on the Pier and WP Regatta is set to go. We'll have music from DJ Ryan Brown, dancing, food, and drinks from Goslings Dark and StormyCisco Brewers, and Triple Eight Vodka under the big tent provided by Peterson Party CenterBuy your tickets, tell your friends, and help Courageous bring sailing to some great Charlestown kids! A regatta just off the end of Pier 4 will take place before the event starts. Contact Corey Williams at corey@courageoussailing to reserve a boat for the regatta and receive two tickets to the party.

The Regatta

Those looking for a way to provide even more support to our Warren Prescott sailors while enjoying great time of the water before the party, are invited to participate in the Warren Prescott Regatta.  The winning team receives a trophy, but all receive entrance to the party with their $300 entry fee. In 2012, 19 teams raced in our core fleet of Rhodes 19's and raised over $4,500.

To register, purchase a ticket for the regatta and party on Eventbrite or contact Corey Williams at corey@courageoussailing.org. Teams are typically comprised of 2 people. Your ticket will cover the cost of entry to the regatta and party for both crew members.

Courageous Sailing

Courageous Sailing was established in 1987 as a 501(c)(3) by the late South Boston sailing enthusiast Harry McDonough. It was Harry’s dream to use sailing to build character and camaraderie among Boston children from all economic and ethnic backgrounds.  For 25 years, we have continued to grow and deliver our mission to transform children’s lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth and leadership.  In Harry’s words, “Every child's perspective is improved 50-yards off-shore.”

Courageous is now a nationally recognized year-round educational center for community sailing and youth development.  Courageous offers Boston-area youth free and low-cost out-of-school-time programs in sailing, environmental education, job skills development, and leadership training. In 2011 we were honored to be named one of the top 10 community sailing programs nationwide by both US Sailing and Sail Magazine.

Our Mission

Transforming children's lives through sailing programs that inspire learning, personal growth and leadership.

Our Vision

A community that embraces sailing as a platform for life-long learning, personal growth and leadership; a center of sailing excellence committed to removing barriers to access for all Boston youth, the public and people with physical and intellectual challenges.
