About this event

The Navy will host two bus tours of the cleanup sites at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard (HPNS) on Saturday, June 10, 2023. The guided tours allow members of the community to visit the site and ask questions of the Navy. Prior to boarding the bus, participants meet at HPNS Building 101 (just inside the shipyard main gate) to sign in for the tour.

Tour 1 begins at 10:00 a.m.

Tour 2 begins at 1:30 p.m. (click here to switch to the 1:30 registration page)

  • The tour is a seated bus tour with no convenience stops.
  • At the Navy's discretion, guests may be allowed the opportunity to exit the bus at identified tour stops as a part of the hosted session.
  • Please reserve 90 minutes for the tour.
  • Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your tour to sign in and board the bus.
  • Reservations are required and space is limited based on bus capacity.
  • You will receive an email confirmation for your reservation the week of June 5, 2023 with directions and additional information.
  • If your tour is full, you have the opportunity to be put on a waiting list; we will make every effort to secure a seat for you or we will offer you the opportunity to register for an upcoming tour.
  • This is a tour for members of the community interested in the cleanup at HPNS, not a media tour. If you are a member of the media and would like to request a media tour, please send an email to info@sfhpns.com.

Are reservations required?

  • YES.

How many seats can I reserve?

  • Due to the popularity of the tours, we request that participants register for no more than 2 seats.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

I didn't receive a ticket - what do I do?

  • Your registration on EventBrite will serve as your ticket and confirmation.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

  • No. There will be a registration table and you can check in there by giving your name.

How can I update my registration information?

  • Please log onto EventBrite to update your registration or cancel your seat. You may also send an email to info@sfhpns.com to update registration information or cancel your seat.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferable?

  • Yes. Please update your reservation on EventBrite or send the name of the person who will be taking your seat(s) to info@sfhpns.com.

Can I take photos and/or video on the tour?

  • Yes, both still photography and videos are allowed, but they cannot interfere with other passengers or with the staff conducting the tour. Safety and respect of fellow riders are a primary concern to the Navy. No filming or recording for professional media purposes; please send any media-related requests to info@sfhpns.com.

Am I able to get off during the tour and walk around the former shipyard?

  • At the Navy's discretion, guests may be allowed the opportunity to exit the bus at identified tour stops as a part of the hosted session. The remainder of the tour will be seated, visible through the bus windows only.

Will the Navy conduct interviews for members of the media or bloggers?

  • No. This is a community tour, not a media event. Members of the media may send an email to info@sfhpns.com to discuss their interests.

Are there restroom facilities on the bus?

  • No. There are restrooms available inside Building 101. The tour is approximately 90 minutes long. Please plan accordingly.

Is translation available during the tour?

Is the bus ADA compliant?
