Event Details

Speaker: Bill English

Topic: From Soup to Nuts: See How the Managed Metadata Service and Records Management is built from Scratch in SharePoint 2013 (120 minutes)

In this demo-rich session, Bill English will start with a basic SharePoint environment and build out the Managed Metadata Service, show how content types are used to route documents from one location to another and how record management works in SharePoint. This session is intended to be more comprehensive than a technical drill-down into the various aspects of these technologies.  This is a good overview session for those new to SharePoint or those responsible for managing a larger service offering of the SharePoint technologies.

By attending this session, attendees will learn:

  1. How the MMS is built
  2. How content types are built and utilized in SharePoint
  3. How to route documents based on their metadata
  4. How records management works in SharePoint
