60 Years of Wolfgang Klähn, presented at the German Consulate General brings together artworks spanning the full career of Wolfgang Klähn and marks the artist’s first exhibition in the United States.
From his student work, to his last years of painting, Klähn was committed to the deliberation of human existence. A Hamburg native, Wolfgang Klähn (born 1929) pondered the cyclical nature of life – birth, death, resurrection, and rebirth. His work, which cannot easily be classified, confronts universal questions, both literally and metaphorically.
