Conference Description:

Elements Organization started in the summer of 2008 in a Philadelphia living room with a group of diverse LGBTQ womyn of color who believed they could organize the resrouces needed for their individual and communities' healing.The journey continues!

Be Part of HERSTORY: This is the first conference the historic Spelman and Clark Atlanta have hosted for LGBTQ womyn!!!

Mission: Our mission is to create a safe space for self-identified LGBTQ womyn of color ages 16-65+ to connect and dialogue whilein increasing visibility, promoting holistic healing and addressing key issues within our communities that move us toward a more just society.

Conference Theme: Elemental Foundations - Fire, Wind, Earth, Water and You!

Keyote Speakers:

  • Danielle and Aisha Moodie-Mills--Essence Magazine's first featured LGBTQ womyn of color couple. They are marriage equality activists. (http://tinyurl.com/Aisha-Danielle)
  • Dr. Alexis Pauline Gumbs--PhD from Duke University in Women's Studies, English and Black Feminism (alexispauline.com)

Elements Organization

Elements Organization hosts the Annual LGBTQ Womyn of Color Conference.


Our mission is to create and to sustain a safe space for LGBTQ womyn to connect and dialogue while increasing visibility, promoting holistic healing, and addressing key issues within our communities that will move us towards a more just society.  



We envision building a group of empowered LGBTQ womyn of color who break the silence, become more consciously engaged in one another's herstory and foster connections in order to become a network of resources and support.
