5th Annual CSN Awards Night

Winner of Overall Best Script and the 2/3 place winners, along with prize details, will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, to be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014, 6 pm at Roots.

The Grand Prize Winner gets a 4-days/3-Nights trip to LA (including airfare and hotel) and a chance to meet with industry executives. Second and Third place runners up will receive $250 each. Plus various other prizes to be announced that night.

As a bonus treat the Grand Prize winner will have a scene from their script acted out live by professional actors during the program.

The five finalists and their screenplays are, in alphabetical order by title:

- Boudekka by Rachel Roache

- Dead Man by T.A. Snyder

- Eyes For An Eye by Riik Makkoogan

- Fit Island by Scott Kirkpatrick

- Once Upon A Winter by Anna and Ella Schovanec

Our guest speaker for the night will be actor Joseph Cranford, who has recently starred in the mega budget Superman reboot Man Of Steel as Pete Ross, Clark Kent’s childhood friend. Joseph will give a detailed account of what it’s like to act in a summer blockbuster.

We encourage patrons to purchase dinner and drinks for the wonderfully entertaining evening.

Tickets can be purchased here online for $10 or at the door for $15.  First come first serve. Limited seating.

Organizer

The Chicago Screenwriters Network

Founded in 1995 by Ed Bernero (‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Third Watch,’) through messages posted online, then subsequently organized in the flesh by Christiana Miller (‘General Hospital,’), CSN has since grown at almost a geometric rate, with now over five hundred members.

Today, CSN is an invaluable resource to Chicago area screenwriters, filmmakers, producers, directors, and actors. We provide assistance in the creation of works for film, television, video, and web, plus help individuals present their work to the industry through our annual Screenwriting Contest. CSN offers a script exchange, networking with film industry peers, a monthly speaker’s program, and a sense of community to members.
