New Orleans, LA
It is with great pleasure that we announce the formation of the 504K — a race presented by NOLAmultisport and Youth Run NOLA and certified as the "Official Training Race" of by the 2014 All State Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic.
On February 15, 2014, this inaugural race will wrap through the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods and situate finishers at The Brick Yard after running 5.04 kilometers.
Together, we recognize great possibility exists within the New Orleans running community. Our friends and fellow runners take to the streets throughout the year to support a variety of events and causes.
The inspiration for this race, however, is derived from our collective belief in the power of running and its ability to transform and catalyze the entire Orleans community.
Youth Run NOLA serves 19 public-school sites across the region, supporting over 250 middle and high school students at bi-weekly practices and monthly training events.
Youth Run NOLA wants to teach the community, as we teach our youth, that runners are made, not born, and that running is a lifestyle, not just a sport.
This race is designed to help meet this challenge.
For the first time ever, we will engage youth to promote the race at 19 school sites and across the region. They will provide input through a race committee, learning the intricacies of race production, and help register family and community members for the race.
Race starts at the corner of Chartres & Montegut
