The City of Hallandale Beach proudly honors Black History Month at this month’s 4th Fridays on Foster on February 28 at Foster Park Community Center. The event will feature live musical performances by Sons of Mystro, Adore, Giel, Wanda “Star” Williams and the Starlettes and La Vie. The event will also feature local food vendors and free family fun from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Fourth Friday on Foster is a free monthly event held the fourth Friday of each month.

Hallandale Beach has a rich history which began on May 14, 1927. Known at the time as only Hallandale, in 1947 Hallandale was reincorporated as a City and broadened span to land in the east. In August 1999, the City officially changed its name to Hallandale Beach. The City of Hallandale Beach has received numerous awards and designations such as becoming a 2013 Playful City USA, U.S. Conference of Mayors named “2013 Top Most Livable City”, Distinguished Budget Presentation Award recipient for 26 consecutive years, Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting recipient for 27 consecutive years and in 2010 winner of the Best Tasting Drinking Water Award. Hallandale Beach services are created to meet the demands of its residents through “Progress, Innovation, and Opportunity”.
