4th Annual STEM Professional Association Event

Middleton High School (http://middleton.mysdhc.org), a Pre-Collegiate STEM Academy, Stewart Middle Magnet School and Young Middle Magnet School would like to invite you to our 4th annual “STEM Professional Association Event” from 5:30-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 20th, 2014. This free event is held on an annual basis to connect Tampa Bay area students, parents, educators and professionals in order to promote student interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professions. Organizations invited to this years event are:

  • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

A robotics demonstration will be conducted by Middleton High School robotics club students (http://middletonrobotics.com), winners of the 2012 World FTC Robotics Championship and 2012, 2013 and 2014 Florida State FTC Robotics Championships!  

Our guest speaker is Dr. Stephan P. Athan, Founder of Engineering Minds (http://www.engineeringminds.org), a Tampa Bay based non-profit organization dedicated to preparing students for leading edge, high technology careers.  Dr. Athan will be speaking on the topic of STEM Careers in Manufacturing".  Here is our agenda:

5:45 - 6:00 Welcome / Announcements
6:00 - 6:15 Robotics Demonstration
6:15 - 6:45 STEM Presentation / Q&A
6:45 - 7:00 Wrap-Up / Adjournment

This free STEM event will take place at Middleton Magnet High School, 4801 North 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33610 in the Media Center, located on the second floor of Administration Building 100. Guests are encouraged to bring their family members to join us for this awesome Science, Technology, Engineering and Math event!

Middleton High School: Pre-Collegiate STEM Academy

Middleton High School is Hillsborough County Public School's pre-collegiate academy for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). 

Vision: Every Middleton High School student will attain his or her highest level of success.

Mission:  Middleton High School's family will focus combined efforts to develop life-long learners. All shall excel academically, become technologically competent, demonstrate appropriate ethical values, and become productive members of a global community, thus creating a better society.

Middleton is a Magnet School of Excellence, Florida Department of Education Turnaround School, SME Education Foundation PRIME Site and FIRST Robotics World Champions.  We are Tigers!
