Straight from their Christmas theatrical tour, the African Children’s Choir invites you to share in the spirit of the holiday at their 4th Annual NYC Gala, A Celebration of Music – The Holiday Edition. This exclusive fundraising event promises guests an unforgettable evening that’s sure to lift your spirits while supporting the African Children’s Choir as they continue to raise global awareness of the plight of orphaned and abandoned children and the power of an education.

Hosted by Connie Britton & Carla Gugino, A Celebration of Music will also feature a special awards presentation and performance by Big Kenny (from Big & Rich) and others!

This year, a portion of proceeds will support local NYC Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.

CONNIE BRITTON

Britton is a three-time Emmy nominated actress well known for her roles on hit television series such as "Spin City," "24," "The West Wing," and starring in NBC's "Friday Night Lights."  Currently she is starring on ABC's "Nashville" in which she plays Rayna James, a legendary country music superstar.

Carla Gugino

CARLA GUGINO

Well known for her roles of Ingrid Cortez in the "Spy Kids" film trilogy, Gugino has also starred as Dr. Vera Gorsji in "Sucker Punch," Lucille in "Sin City" and as Amanda Daniels in seasons 3, 5, and 7 of "Entourage." Gugino also had a lead role in the 2012 mini-series "Political Animals."

Big Kenny

BIG KENNY (Kenny Alphin, Big & Rich)

In recognition of his work with schools in the Sudan and Kenya, The African Children's Choir will present the Malaika Award to Big Kenny.  The Malaika Award is the Choir's most prestigious form of recognition, presented to individuals for outstanding work on behalf of Africa's most vulnerable children.  The statuette is symbolic of the beauty, hardship, and hope found in many African faces.

Stephanie Block

STEPHANIE BLOCK

Stephanie has established herself as one of the most relevant and versatile voices in contemporary musical theatre.  She is currently starring as Alice Nutting/Edwin Drood in The Roundabout Theatre's production of THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD.  Other Broadway credits include Reno Sweeney in the 2011 TONY Award winning revival of ANYTHING GOES and 9 to 5: THE MUSICAL playing the role of Judy Bernly, for which she earned a Drama Desk nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.  Block also originated the role of Elphaba in the first national tour of WICKED, for which she was awarded both the 2006 Helen Hayes Award and the 2007 Carbonell Award for Best Actress in a Non-Resident Production.

Music for Life run the grammy nominated and world renowed African Children's Choir.  The Choir exists to show the world the Beauty, Dignity and Unlimited Ability of the African Child.

Through funds and awareness raised by the Choir in the US, the Choir educate many children back in Africa. 

Our mission is to Help Africa's most vulnerable children today, so they can help Africa tomorrow.
