4CFF General Meeting - July 2014
Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (PDT)
This month's general meeting of the 4th Corner Fly Fishers will be held at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club on July 24, 2014. The Wet Fly will begin at 6pm with dinner at 6:45pm. The program will begin at 7:30pm and will be followed by the general membership meeting.
This month our speaker is Ryan Valentine. Ryan is a Fish and Wildlife Police Officer with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He is going to speak to us about the Eyes in the Woods Program that aims to reduce poaching and other wildlife and resource abuses. This is an excellent opportunity to learn how you can help protect our resources as a volunteer in partnership with WDFW.
Please RSVP for the membership meeting by Tuesday, July 22 by visiting http://4cff.eventbrite.com, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 360-319-1350. Be sure to indicate if you’ll be having dinner or just attending the meeting, and remember that a dinner reservation made is a binding commitment to pay. Also, a reminder that getting your RSVP in on time helps us provide an accurate count for the kitchen and we very much appreciate your help in placing your reservations on time!
I normally close these announcements with a ‘I look forward to seeing you…’ kind of message, but this month this will not be the case. Around the time you are all sitting down to dinner on the 24th, I plan to be celebrating my birthday by standing knee deep in the Gallatin River tempting a fine trout to come eat my fly. I’ll do my best to bring back a good fishing report.
Finally, I wanted to remind you again that our annual picnic is coming up in August. We’ve made a change to the date to avoid the Labor Day weekend, so the picnic is going to be held on Friday, August 22 at the Todd’s residence out in Ferndale. More details coming soon – but make sure you get the correct date in your calendar.
