4-H MOUNTAIN BIKE CAMP IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST RIDING BIKES!
Through this 4-H Mountain Bike Camp experience youth will increase their confidence, knowledge, and skills in a safe, fun, peer-led environment. Activities focus on developing safe-riding skills, mechanical knowledge, and bike handling, as well as exposure to health and wellness, environmental stewardship, air and water quality issues, through a series of hands-on experiences.
Who: 4-H members only (anyone is welcome to join)
What: 4-H Mountain Bike Camp
When: Monday, June 16th - Wednesday, June 18th. 8-12pm each day. Lunch will be provided.
Where: On trails throughout Washington County
Bring: BYOB (bring your own bike), a helmet is required. 4-H will award bike tools, equipment, and apparel to participants as awards upon graduation
Food: A healthy, hardy lunch and plenty of libations are always provided by 4-H
>>>Day 1: Orientation to Bikes, Basic Bicycle Mechanics and Tour of Red Rock Cyclery. Ride the Anasazi Trail in Santa Clara.
>>>Day 2: On-the-bike skills sessions, leadership, nutrition, and endurance activities. Ride Bearclaw Poppy Trail in Green Valley.
>>>Days 3: On-the-bike skills training, leadership, and air + water quality science activities. Plus Graduation! Ride Gooseberry Mesa in Apple Valley.
4-H Mountain Bike Camp is more than just riding a bike – it’s about the empowerment and independence youth feel from a summer adventure on two wheels!
