This workshop is for 4-H youth to learn how to select, plant, and care for plants that can be entered into the Osceola County Fair 4-H Youth exhibits.
This workshop will discuss all the possible horticulture categories that a 4-Her can enter into the fair. Youth attending the workshop will have the opportunity to plant three of the categories at the workshop that they can then care for and enter into the fair. These categories include hydroponics, shoe garden, and propagation.
Plants and soil will be provided, but you must bring your own containers.
Hydroponics: Use a container that holds water, such as a glass flower vase.
Shoe garden: An old shoe that you do not wear any longer. Old men’s work boots and high top sneakers are fun to use.
Propagation: Bring any flower pot (plastic, clay or ceramic) that has a drainage hole. Approximately than 6-8 inches wide (measure top of container).
Pre-Registration for this workshop is required. Must register before November 27th.
