The George Washington University and the Office of Technology Transfer

3rd Annual Innovation Competition!
The GW Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) is showcasing promising and impactful GW research with commercial potential. This event provides a forum for idea sharing between GW researchers, entrepreneurs, and members of the venture community, as well as the opportunity to present technologies to a panel of experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry. Finalists will pitch their technologies for a chance to win $20,000* in prizes!
Poster and Networking Session | 1:00pm - 2:30pm
GW researchers with technologies available for licensing will present in poster format. A panel of experienced entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals will judge the commercialization potential of each technology. The top technologies will advance to the Innovation Competition.
BioHealth Innovation Seminar | 2:30pm - 3:00pm
Those interested in increasing the impact of GW research can attend this seminar to learn more about activities and programs that help translate research into products. Rich Bendis, the CEO of BioHealth Innovation will speak on regional resources and early-stage funding mechanisms available to enable the commercialization of technology.

Innovation Competition | 3:00pm - 4:00pm
The top technologies from the poster session will have 10 minutes to pitch their technology to the judges. This year, we are offering two (2) $10,000 grand prizes in two areas. The best pitch for Physical Sciences and Life Sciences will each win $10,000 for development of a prototype or proof-of-concept.
* Prize money is for the development of a prototype or proof-of-concept. $10,000 prize awarded each for best physical science and best life science project.
All are welcome to attend event, but participation in competition is by invite only

How to qualify a technology for the poster session competition:
1) Email email@example.com to disclose your invention (including GW inventors).
2) OTT will evaluate your invention and decide whether to file a patent or copyright.
3) The invention is available for licensing, but not yet licensed.
4) OTT sends an invitation to compete and inventor accepts before the limited space is filled.
Additional invitations will be sent on a rolling basis until spaces are filled. Disclose your technology early for a better chance to participate!
