Chris Yonge, a lecturer in the School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz,  will discuss the technological foundation of 3D printing and the future of 3D printing.

3D printing has been around for fifty years but has only recently exploded into popular consciousness. Paradoxically, there is a good deal of hype about how it will affect every day life but some of its more fascinating applications are seldom mentioned. Chris  will talk about 3D printing's past, its present, and future in the context of his background as a product designer and digital modeler.

7:00 pm to  8:30 pm  Presentation, Q & A
