Frequently Asked Questions
When do I need to make my housing reservation?
- APRIL 30 - We greatly appreciate if you can submit your housing request by April 30th for optimal roommate placement and to help us estimate our numbers.
- MAY 7 - The final day to pre-register for housing is May 7th.
- ON-SITE - We will be able to accomodate changes and additions at the door, but we encourage you to pre-register for optimal roommate placement.
Are the prices per-person or per-room?
The prices are "per-person." When you make a reservation, you are one bed in a room that sleeps two. If you know the person you'd like to room with, you should each reserve a bed and request one another as your roommate.
Tell me about the rooms.
Most men and women will be placed in dorms that each hold two people, with community bathrooms down the hall. Men and women will be on different floors.
Couples may be placed in a four-person apartment (two bedrooms / two couples) with a shared bathroom. All the beds are Twin beds.
Do I need to bring a sleeping bag or towels?
APU will provide bed linens (sheets, blanket, pillow & pillowcase), and bathroom linens (towel, washcloth). Some people prefer to bring extra linens for added comfort. Please bring your own toiletries. We recommend flip-flops for the shower.
Can I stay for just Thursday or just Friday night?
I'm sorry, no. Thursday & Friday are a package deal during the main time of the conference. Then there is the option to add Wednesday or Saturday. We'd love to see you there for the whole conference!
Will I have a roommate?
If you do not select a roommate, you may be matched with another attendee (or maybe not, depending on capacity and needs.)
We will be able to accomodate single-occupancy requests at an additional cost. Please contact UYWI at Julie@uywi.org or 800-REG-UYWI (800-734-8994) to request single-occupancy.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
If you cancel your reservation by April 30th, we can refund the cost of your room. After April 30th there are no refunds because we have to guarantee our housing numbers to APU.
Is my housing reservation transferrable?
If you are assigned to female floor your housing is transferable to another female, (or male to male). If you registered for couples housing, you can transfer to another couple.
If a woman is transferring her reservation to a man, you will need to cancel the woman and make a new reservation for the man. (Refunds subject to the cancellation policy deadline.)
COUPLES: If one party of a couple cancels, then the other party must be reassigned. (i.e. A couple reserves housing, but later the wife can not attend. The husband must be reassigned to a Men's housing area)
What if I'd prefer a hotel instead?
Return to the Registration & Housing Page for hotel resources. Some offer discounts if you mention APU or UYWI/360 at the time of booking.
