Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to hammer out the logistics. Due to extenuating circumstances beyond our control, the hackathon will not be occuring before spring 2016. However, all ticket orders remain valid and you will continue receiving updates from us as long as you retain your order. E-mail yangbodu@alum.mit.edu in case you have any enquiries.

We are now officially part of Hack for Big Choices, a global series of hackathons and talks to empower people worldwide to take action and use their talents to make “big choices” that impact their communities and change the world. Stay tuned for updates via e-mail and Twitter.

What do you get when you mash technology entrepreneurship focused on rapid scalability together with social entrepreneurship focused on long-term positive societal impact?

Transformational entrepreneurship, building scalable businesses with moral ethos.

With mobile devices enabling the majority of the human population to access the Internet, the barriers to transformational entrepreneurship continue to decline. What is impeding such potential is not a dearth of ideas or resources, but a dearth of execution. Over a single weekend, you have the opportunity to build and launch a transformational startup, one with a strong business case and strong potential to transform for the better. The New York innovation community will provide you the tools you will need; you only need supply the ambition to do well and do good.

We are seeking sponsors (for APIs, food, and prizes), presenters (for opening and closing remarks), and judges (business, technology, and policy), so if you are interested or know someone who is, please e-mail Yangbo Du at yangbodu@alum.mit.edu.

To get up to speed if needed, here is a helpful chart with a link to background reading.

*Of course, not every major global challenge has or even needs economic justification, so if you set out to build and launch a transformational non-profit, you are just as welcome to do so.
