2nd Annual Writers Block Party
The Road to Published: Authors Tell Their Stories

The feature presentation of the 2nd Annual Writers Block Party will be a panel discussion looking at the pros and cons of traditional versus self-publishing, as well as the recent development of hybrid publishing, which combines aspects of both traditional and self-publishing.

Moderated by State Street Publishing's George Rawlinson, the panel will feature seven local authors who will share their stories – the good, the bad and the ugly – about their own personal publishing experiences.  Participating in the discussion will be two past recipients of Chicago Writers Association's Book of the Year Award, James Finn Garner (“Honk Honk, My Darling”) and Patricia Ann McNair (“The Temple of Air”). Joining them will be a mix of fiction and non-fiction authors: Dan Burns ("Recalled to Life" and "The First 60 Seconds"), Libby Fischer Hellman (“A Bitter Veil” and "Set the Night on Fire"), Samantha Hoffman (“What More Could You Wish For”) and Toneal Jackson ("Pleasing Your Partner" and "Inspiration from A.B.O.V.E.").
Following the discussion there will be an opportunity for attendees to meet the authors during a social networking "Writers Block Party." Light snacks and soft drinks will be served.
The Gail Borden Public Library provides library meeting space as a community service. The library neither sponsors nor endorses this event nor the presenting individual(s) or organization(s)
