The Illinois Council of Certified Professional Midwives (ICCPM) is a 501C6 nonprofit organization formed to promote the development and support of the practice of professional midwifery and establish it as a safe and reliable health care option for families in Illinois.

Our objectives are:

·         To remove barriers to midwifery practice and to improve consumer access to midwifery care

·         To promote and protect the legal status of certified professional midwives (CPMs)  in the state of Illinois

·         To provide midwives with opportunities for training and continuing education

·         To promote communication and cooperation between midwives and other professionals

We believe every woman should have a choice about where and how she wants to give birth.  Licensing CPMs will give pregnant women more options. ________________________________________________________________________________

ICCPM is excited to host our 2nd annual Walk for Midwives on Saturday, May 7, 2011.  The purpose of the walk is to raise both awareness and funds for our efforts.  Funds raised through this event will purchase materials to promote midwifery in Illinois and help with our lobbying costs.

The 2011 Walk for Midwives will only be a success with the support of community members like you.  We are looking for donations of goods and services that can be used as raffle items during the event or auctioned off prior to the day. We are also asking for donations of snacks or water for participants after the walk.  Any donation you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Your support helps Illinois women have the birth of their choosing – thank you!

Please note: Because ICCPM is a 501C6 non-profit organization, donations are NOT tax-deductible.
