ABOUT Taste of New Orleans


A food and wine tasting and pairing event with Malcolm Jenkins and players from the 2013 New Orleans Saints NFL Team to raise funds to support the programs of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation.


Date:               Monday, September 23, 2013

Location:        Pavilion of Two Sisters at City Park

                        1 Palm Drive, New Orleans, LA 70124

Time:              7:00-10:00 PM



Event Details:

  • Over 18 local restaurants and wineries featuring food and wine pairings. 
  • Silent auction with sports memorabilia items, jewelry, and local items during the event.
  • A live auction will be held for special one-of-a-kind items during the event.
  • A raffle of sports item/memorabilia.
  • NFL footballs will be sold for guests to obtain player autographs.
  • Live band and DJ entertainment throughout the evening.
  • Food and wine tastings are included in ticket price.
  • A gift bag with information about The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation featuring a custom wine glass and other great items representing New Orleans.


  • FREE self–parking for guests in the City Park parking lot.


  • Live performance by a jazz band and DJ.
  • Interactive Photobooth. 

Rules & Regulations: 

  • Tickets are non-refundable. Please reserve early, as limited space is available for the event. Only 350 tickets are being sold, as event is expected to sell out.

  • Outside sports memoribilia e.g. football, jersey, t-shirt, etc. are not allowed.

The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation


The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, founded by Malcolm Jenkins in 2010, was established to develop and assist youth in underserved communities. It is Malcolm’s hope that through his foundation, a difference will be made in their lives. Malcolm’s commitment to give back is indicative of his desire to positively impact future generations and the communities in which they live.



The mission of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation is to effectuate positive change in the lives of youth, particularly youth living in underserved communities; by providing resources, innovative opportunities and experiences that will help them succeed in life and become contributing members of the community.

MALCOLM JENKINS PROJECT R.E.W.A.R.D.S. (Reinforcing Education with Activities, Recreation and Developmental Supports)

Malcolm Jenkins Project R.E.W.A.R.D.S. is a youth development, education oriented program of The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation and the Greater New Orleans Urban League – College Track partnership. Project R.E.W.A.R.D.S offers a variety of unique interactive activities designed to provide underserved youth with the essential skills, and resources necessary to help them identify personal and professional goals and enhance their quality of life. The program actively engages students in grades 9 – 12, with a curriculum focusing on Building Self-Confidence, Health and Wellness, Strategic Thinking, Leadership Development Skills & Mentoring. Life skills will be taught using a combination of creative teaching techniques, including group discussion, intellectual exercises, games, leadership retreats and college tours. To encourage students and keep them engaged, the program is designed to deliver progressive rewards yearly. Students who successfully complete the Urban League College Track Student Life program and The Malcolm Jenkins Project R.E.W.A.R.D.S. curriculum will be considered for scholarships.

To inspire young adults to make RESPONSIBLE choices
To explore STRATEGIC THINKING skills through intellectual exercises & games
Provide LEADERSHIP skill workshops and MENTORING
Provide opportunity for financial SCHOLARSHIP support


Malcolm Jenkins Project R.E.W.A.R.D.S. Scholarships are awarded annually to help deserving youth, in pursuit of higher learning, with the financial assistance to attend an accredited college or university. In 2012, the Foundation awarded $1,000.00 scholarships to ten graduating seniors of the Greater New Orleans Urban League College Track Program for meeting criteria in the following categories: Academic Excellence; Most Improved; and Overcoming the Odds. Program Administrators submits nominees to be reviewed.


The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation host annual youth football camps designed to deliver a solid foundation in football fundamentals to youth ages 7-18. During this fun learning experience, campers participate in competitions, while learning lessons of teamwork, consideration of others, self-discipline, and how to attain their potential in sports and in life. The annual camps provide a fun and inspirational opportunity for youth in communities of Louisiana and New Jersey to meet and learn from NFL Players in an environment created to inspire and motivate.
