Come out to the 2nd Annual Project RISHI National Retreat! It will be held on the first weekend of January from Friday January 3rd to Sunday January 5th at UCLA (two nights). Last year's retreat was held at Lake Tahoe and was a HUGE success as we integrated each chapter into a larger Project RISHI community. We revamped the structure of the national retreat this year in hopes to make this second retreat bigger and better!
This event is open to:
- all current, active members of Project RISHI (both general and executive)
- all alumni who are graduates of current Project RISHI Chapters
- all members currently serving on the National Team
- all advisors and founders who have contributed to our cause
- all students at any University interested in getting involved
*Be sure to RSVP by buying a ticket below to confirm your attendance!*
Here's a rough itinerary for the retreat:
Friday January 3rd
Everyone gets into LA late afternoon/evening. We will start off the retreat with a cocktail mixer at an upscale bar/lounge reserved just for RISHI. Activities will include ice-breakers, games, and a few chapter competitions. It will be 18+, but you have to be 21+ to drink of course :). If there's time, we can head out to a nice viewpoint before ending the night.
Saturday January 4th
Morning: Keynote & Additional Speakers, continental breakfast by RISHI, Presentations to Unveil Exciting New Initiatives for 2014 followed by breaking out into meeting rooms for sessions throughout the day.
Afternoon: Catered lunch provided by RISHI followed by sessions that will include national committee meetings, feedback, idea generation, project development, etc. We will also have exciting competitions relevant to inspire ideas to forward our mission. This is meant to strengthen our organization by pooling our resources and efficiently working together! These discussions are an opportunity for YOU to influence the future direction of the organization.
Evening: Nice dinner out followed by a bonfire at the beach.
Sunday January 5th
Breakfast together, debrief/reflection, and goodbyes
The goal of this retreat is to be as engaging as possible so you walk out feeling inspired to advance Project RISHI and its mission forward. We really hope to see most of you! If you have any questions, feel free to email Divya at email@example.com or Sriram at firstname.lastname@example.org.
TICKET INFO FAQ
Q: What is the $10 For?
A: The $10 is your confirmation that you are attending the event and will pay for the cost of a National Retreat T-Shirt to be handed out on the Friday of the event.
Q: Does this cover the full cost of my attendance for the weekend?
A: Maybe, maybe not. While there will be a significant amount of National funds allocated towards putting on this weekend, the Retreat Planning Committee may need to charge each attendee anywhere from $0 to $30 depending on the final cost of conference room reservations, lounge reservations and additional food costs. The Retreat Planning Committee is eager to finalize this soon and your local chapter RPC representative will update you with an amount as soon as one has been decided.
Q: Is the $10 refundable if I can't make the event?
A: No. Your $10 will be immediately used to pay for initial deposits and shirts and thus are nonrefundable.
Q: I dont know how I can get to LA on that weekend. Is it possible to coordinate rides?
A: Definitely!. Please make sure you answer the questions at checkout so you can tell us where you are traveling from and arrange a ride for you. Also, a lot of members from Norcal will be using Megabus which is a great, affordable option. Each chapter's respective RPC delegate will coordinate a bus option for people traveling from each major city so members can travel together. Lastly, as more people RSVP, we will continue to update the different travel arrangements those coming from Norcal are making and update them on this sheet.
Q: Where am I going to stay?
A: Members from the UCLA chapter have been very kind by offering to host everyone over the weekend. We will send out details once the RSVPs cross 50 of who you will be staying with. The only request we have is that you respect their property and bring your own sleeping bag! Alternatively, you are more than welcome to make arrangements to stay with close friends or book a near by hotel with fellow members.
Q: Is the $10 worth it?
A: Of Course! The Retreat is going to be a great opportunity to further your participation in RISHI and why not show of that RISHI swag with an awesome RISHI T-shirt!
**Please be sure to answer the questions provided at checkout regarding additional T-shirt, food & transportation info. These are necessary in order to confirm your RSVP. Responses may be changed at a later time.
