This workshop will be an in depth coverage of the features of NMRViewJ and will be taught by Bruce Johnson, the author of the program. We expect to release version 9.0 of NMRViewJ prior to the course so we'll use that version for all the training. Because of the many new features in NMRViewJ, it should be useful to both new and experienced users. The workshop will be taught with our No Spectroscopist Left Behind technology so all sessions will be hands-on. Particpants should bring a laptop computer with Java version 1.6 or newer to the course.
Agenda - We're still working out the exact agenda, but topics to be covered may include
- Creating display windows, Displaying, Formatting
- Setting up, saving data,
- New Canvas Spectra
- Flexible layouts, annotations, insets, saving and loading
- Backbone and sidechain assignments
- Following ligand binding and measuring Kd
- Assigning, generating and analyzing constraints
- Basic Scripting
- Using JTcl and Swank to make your workflow more efficient
- Data Processing
- Using NMRViewJ to process NMR Data
The workshop will be held on the campus of UMBC. Located just outside of Baltimore, MD the university has convenient access by air, train and car. Accommodations will be in a dorm at UMBC and all meals will be provided and are included in the $540.00 registration fee. Participants not requiring housing can register for $420.00. The workshop sessions will commence on Wednesday, June 20th and accommodations will be available Tuesday through Friday nights (inclusive).
Cancellation - The organizers reserve the right to cancel the course for any reason. In particular, if registration numbers are not sufficient by May 9 the course may be cancelled. In the event of cancellation a full refund of registration fees will be issued to those participants who have registered.
