Join the sophisticated ladies of the Louisville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we kick off our Founders Day Weekend with the 2nd Annual Night of Jazz!

Come hear the smooth sounds of The Ron Jones Quartet, dine on delicious hors d'oeuvres and be enlightened by poetry and spoken word.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, all proceeds benefit the LAC Scholarship Fund

VIP Packages are available for $300 and includes 10 tickets.

The largest chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in the state of Kentucky, chartered in 1933 and proud host chapter of the 2014 Mighty Midwest Regional Conference!
 
Mission
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. A sisterhood of more than 200,000 predominately Black college educated women, the Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas and the Republic of Korea. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization's Five Point Programmatic Thrust: •Economic Development •Educational Development •International Awareness and Involvement •Physical and Mental Health •Political Awareness and Involvement The Sorority was founded in 1913 by 22 students at Howard University. These young women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence; to provide scholarships; to provide support to the underserved; educate and stimulate participation in the establishment of positive public policy; and to highlight issues and provide solutions for problems in their communities.
 
Description
The Louisville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered in Louisville, Kentucky in 1933.  The present chapter name is actually its second: The original name was Alpha Alpha Sigma, and this was later changed to Louisville Alumnae.  Today it is the largest chapter of Delta Sigma Theta in the state of Kentucky.
 
Some of the programs that the chapter has sponsored in the  Loui...sville community include:

*    Social Action Programs such as voter registration drives
*    Health Improvement Projects
*    Delta Day at the Races
*    The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy
