4:00 PM - Permaculture talk
5:00 PM - Dinner is served
Lobsters will be delivered from MAINE by lobstermen the DAY OF the event - absolutely fresh. They will be steam-cooked outdoors on a bed of seaweed over open fire and served with corn on the cob, greens and drawn butter.
Salmon platters will include fresh salmon filet cooked on the grill in the garden, corn, potatoes, greens, and drawn butter.
Vegetarian platters will include corn, potatoes, greens, and drawn butter.
Special home-made beverages will be available at extra cost.
$25 (lobster or salmon), $15 (veg), online reservation.
$30 (lobster or salmon), $20 (veg), cash-only at the door (while supplies last).
100% of the proceeds benefit the community building, urban agriculture, food justice, and sustainable design initiatives at Imani Garden and are stewarded by community gardeners and Green Phoenix Permaculture, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
Imani Garden is located in historically significant Weeksville, the 2nd oldest African-American community on the East Coast. It features a beautiful old Willow tree and was named by the members of the adjacent church who cared for it for many years. "Imani" means "faith" in Swahili.
