Come on out for the 2nd Annual Kids Rock Benefit Concert!
This year's all-star lineup features Southern Culture on the Skids (SCOTS) in a rare performance for all ages, the stellar band Flying Hippo, the legendary Mister John Saylor, and master of ceremonies Tim Smith. The musical good times will take place outdoors at the Forest Theatre on Sunday September 18, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Kids 12 and under are FREE. Advance tickets are $7.
The music will include rock, folk, jazz and rockabilly. Last year dancing kids took to the stage, and we are hoping to see that again. There will also be face painting, drinks, and merchandise available for sale. Concert goers may like to bring a picnic. Everyone is welcome.
Invite friends, neighbors and passersby -- and help us spread the word!
**NEW** Be a "Kids Rock Star" by making a gift of $100. You support the kids in a major way, we throw in two adult tickets and two t-shirts, AND you get a tax deduction. Everybody wins! All proceeds will help the Chapel Hill Cooperative Preschool (CHCP) provide quality early childhood education for kids of all backgrounds. CHCP is over 50 years old, and the first integrated preschool in North Carolina. Recent state budget cuts have made private fundraising efforts to preserve quality and diversity more urgent. Everyone working to put on the concert is donating their time and talents, including the musicians! To learn more about the preschool, visit us at http://www.chapelhillcoop.com or contact email@example.com.
The Forest Theatre is located on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus; street parking adjacent to the theatre is free on weekends. In case of rain, the concert will take place at 2pm at the American Legion (1714 Legion Road, Chapel Hill). In case of stormy skies, please check http://www.scots.com/tourdates.html to see if we are using our rain location.
