2nd Annual Carrboro Farmers' Market Harvest Fundraiser Dinner
Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 6:15 PM to 9:00 PM (EDT)
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT! But GOOD NEWS, we have plans for you! Thursday is also Carrboro Farmers' Market night at Steel String Brewery! Stop by Steel String anytime between 6-10pm on Thursday and partial beer proceeds will go towards the Fundraiser! There will be some free treats as well!
The Carrboro Farmers’ Market will host a second annual Harvest Fundraiser Dinner at Town Commons on Thursday, September 26th from 6:15-9:00pm. The event, in partnership with the TerraVITA Food and Wine Festival, will bring together chefs, market farmers and artisans, and community members for a festive locally-sourced dinner at Town Commons. The dinner will feature potluck-style dishes from the Triangles finest chefs including Andrea Reusing of Lantern, Adam Rose of Il Palio, Sean Fowler of Mandolin, Kevin Callaghan of ACME, Marshall Smith of Glasshalfull, and more listed below
Steel String Brewery and Benjamin Vineyards Winery will host the pre-dinner cocktail social at Town Commons, giving folks some extra time to enjoy great company and local beverages! The fun begins at 6:15pm!
Tickets for the potluck meal are $55 when purchased before September 19th, with the option to contribute additional funds to be a SunGOLD or SILVERQueen supporter of the Market! Those who wish to support the Market but cannot make the event can also contribute online and sponsor a farmer! These funds will be used to send Market farmers, artisans and their staff to the dinner at a discounted price.
The proceeds from the Harvest Dinner will be added to the $6,000 raised in 2012 to make physical improvements to the Town Commons space. The Market will use the funds to give back to the community space for all to enjoy - this includes reinforcing the space to better handle erosion, heavy foot traffic, and exposure to the elements. This project requires extensive planning and analysis, and the Town of Carrboro is scheduled to begin landscape architect assessments of the Town Commons in the 2013-2014 fiscal year. Without funds from the first potluck dinner, this would not have been possible!
