Event Details

Come celebrate local entrepreneurship at our 2nd Annual B.E.A.T. event. Last year’s B.E.A.T. event had over 200 attendees. The audience was comprised of business leaders, entrepreneurial support organizations, community dignitaries, and local media outlets.

First 100 attendees to arrive at the event will receive a USF CONNECT B.E.A.T Swag Bag.

What is B.E.A.T.?
B.E.A.T. (Building Entrepreneurship Around Tampa) is an event to showcase the fresh and innovative entrepreneurial talent in the Tampa Bay area. This year’s event will feature Tampa Bay Technology Incubator (TBTI), Student Innovation Incubator (SII), First WaVE and Pasco SMARTstart entrepreneurs. To add to the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, we will be hosting Pitch, a competition with the potential for angel investments.

B.E.A.T. Schedule:

  • 1:30 - 3:00 pm Expo: Learn more about Tampa's innovators and entrepreneurs as they exhibit, sample, demonstrate and explain their products and services to you.
  • 3:00 - 4:30 pm Pitch: An event hosted by USF CONNECT, where selected companies pitch their business ventures to a panel of angel investors in the hopes of receiving funding
  • 4:30- 6:00pm VIP Reception: Sponsored by Shumaker, Loop, & Kendrick, LLP with beer, wine and hors d'oeuvres

This event is open to the public, but registration is recommended. There is no cost to attend, so don't miss a B.E.A.T.! Light refreshments will be provided.
