Event Details

Please join us as we celebrate and honor two local champions that have proven over time that the well-being of San Antonio children are a high priority on all levels. We will be honoring Mr. Kevin Moriarty, President/CEO of Methodist Healthcare Ministries and Mr. Ralph Bender, posthumously, Voices Board Member. 

Former Mayor of San Antonio, Mr. Howard Peak, will accompany us as the M.C. 

The 2nd Annual CAM Messina Child Advocacy Award Luncheon is open to any and all of those who care for, advocate for and fight for the positive improvement of children's well-being. 

Thank you Mr. Moriarity and Mr. Bender for having such a tremendous impact on future generations to come.

Voices for Children of San Antonio

Voices for Children of San Antonio is a research and advocacy organization committed to making young children’s issues a priority in the San Antonio community.  Established in 1996 as A Vision for Children, the founding Board was comprised of providers of children’s services, as well as business, foundation and academic representatives, all advocates whose mission was, and is, to improve the quality of life for children in our community and to make San Antonio the best city in the nation to be a child.  In 2001 the organization incorporated as a separate 501-c-3 non- profit organization, committed to improving the quality of life for San Antonio’s children through research, strategic planning, advocacy and action.  A Vision for Children became a member of Voices for America’s Children asVoices for Children of San Antonio.

Voices for Children networks nearly 2,000 community stakeholders from more than 500 organizations, working to improve the quality of live for San Antonio’s kids.

Voices’ broad areas of interest include abuse and neglectearly care and education; and infant/child safety & health care. Voices for Children, with volunteer co-chairs, directs task forces and working groups to seek improvement in these areas. These committees meet regularly throughout the year to continue work toward positive change in policies, programs and practices that impact young children.
