Coming back for our second year, the 2014 (yes, 2014 is soon) 1:1 Repurposed Art Show, or P(ART)Y is now officially scheduled.
Join us on Saturday, January 25th, for a party, art show, and celebration of community, culture, and conservation. We are very fortunate this year to be able to host our event at 3RDSPACE, Co-Working & Club For The Creative, an amazing space right in our back yard of University Heights (literally right underneath the University Heights sign).
So what is "P(ART)Y"?
Very simply, our excuse to have a good time, show off our work, and promote local arts. This year, we invited 30 local artists to participate (last year we had 25). We provided each of our artists with a blank, white reusable tote bag, which we made from waste vinyl (banner material) destined for the landfill. Our artists are free to do as they please with their bags.
We look forward to seeing you on the 25th. More details to come!

A few FAQ's to answer any questions you may have:
So where's the P(ART)Y?
Good question. We'll see you at 3RDSPACE- 4610 Park Blvd. Directionally challenged? Well, for starters, 3RDSPACE is in University Heights (near Hillcrest and North Park). The cross street is Madison. To find the building, all you have to do is locate this lovely & historic Univerisity Heights sign and we'll literally be right underneath it. Literally.
How about parking?
Another good question. There's a whole bunch 'o free residential parking nearby. Please be courteous of driveways and alleys though. Also, metered street parking is free after 6pm. Easy.
What do I need to bring? Should I print my ticket?
No need to print your ticket. Seriously NO PRINTING NEEDED. We've got you on the registered attendee list. No need to bring anything but yourself and your ID. We have cash or credit capacity for drinks or purchasing art.
Food. What's the deal?
There will be food for sale and there are various excellent local establishments within walking distance. You're covered on the food issue.
Tell me more about the art...
In short, 30 local artists have created works of art on repurposed vinyl tote bags. We had the bags made locally out of waste vinyl (banner material) that we literally pulled out of printing shop dumpsters.
This year's art is held under lock and key, but you can view last year's works here:
I want to bring my friend who didn't register, but tickets are sold out!
First off, that's not a question. Secondly, well that's what happens when you wait until the last minute. Seriously though, we are thrilled that you are joining us, and would love nothing more to share this event with your besties, but unfortunately we have a limited amount of space and well, you know how these things go. We hope you, your friends, and everyone else can join us for our upcoming events.
I registered for a ticket but can no longer make it...what do I do?!?!
Well first, you need to feel some regret, as you're missing what has been called "the absolute most important event of all time" by a person that may or may not have been associated with The 1:1 Movement. No worries though, it happens. Respond to this email and we can release your tickets to waitlisters.
What's the cutest picture ever?
This. This is...
See you Saturday!
