Event Details

This year the Governor's Conference on North Dakota History recognizes the diversity of topics explored in the expansion of the North Dakota Heritage Center and State Museum. Rather than focusing on a particular topic we have decided to consider the broad reach of North Dakota history and provide a variety interesting presentations. Both the State Historical Society of North Dakota and North Dakota Studies have undertaken exciting new projects in the past few decades. The leaders of these important history entities will recount some of these milestones. Hear how North Dakota’s history story has continued in the past 60 or so years. Consider how art and imagery intersect with the science of geology. Reflect on the impacts of Post Offices on rural towns and horses on Lakota culture. Learn about a pioneer in the oil industry and important historical structures in the state.  Share An Uncommon History with us.
